In the state semifinals, Lanier topped a Dallas Lincoln team that was led by future NBA player Chris Bosh. Bernal has led Antonian to TAPPS state titles in 2019, 2021 and 2024.

Nation’s finest: Cornerstone seniors Megan Fitch and Kaia Thiele both were named to the Prep Volleyball All-America team.
Fitch, a Texas A&M signee and outside hitter, made the first team and Thiele, a setter headed to Nevada-Las Vegas, earned a spot on the second team. The squad was comprised of 40 players from around the country.
It was the second All-America team that Fitch and Thiele have been named as All-Americans. The duo previously was selected to MaxPreps’ All-America team, with Fitch nabbing first-team honors and Thiele making the second team. The two players helped Cornerstone to a combined 121-13 record over the past three seasons.
