2,500: Career assists for Schertz John Paul II senior volleyball setter Maura Asadourian, who recently reached the milestone during a win for the Guardians, the defending TAPPS Class 4A state champion.
2,000: Career assists for Alamo Heights senior setter Carolyn Beckel, who accomplished the feat during the Mules’ win vs. Burbank on Oct. 11.
25: Aces for TAPPS 6A power Antonian during its 25-9, 25-7, 25-9 non-district volleyball win vs. Boerne on Oct. 11. Senior Sujeili Mermella served for 15 of the aces.
5: Days until the UIL permits high school boys basketball teams across the state to conduct their first after-school practice on Monday. The regular season kicks off on Nov. 11 and concludes March 9-11 with the state tournament at the Alamodome. Cole was the Class 3A state finalist a year ago, while Boerne Champion (5A) and Boerne (4A) were state semifinalists.
