A linebacker on Judson’s 1983 state championship squad, Malesky joined his father Gary in the 100-win club. The elder Malesky had 141 wins during an 18-year career (1971-1988) that included stints at Holmes and Kennedy. His 1980 and ’85 Holmes teams advanced to the Class 5A (now 6A) state semifinals.

Alamo Heights was fourth at state that season. The state meet is Nov. 5-6 at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock.

The Bulldogs defeated Lanier Tuesday to claim an undefeated (16-0) District 27-5A crown, earning them their first league crown since 2006 and only their second in the 50 seasons that the San Antonio ISD has sponsored the sport.
