200: Career wins for Harlan volleyball coach Monica Gonzales, who reached the milestone during the team’s victory over Madison at the North East ISD tournament on Aug. 20.
Gonzales is in her fourth season at Harlan and has guided the Hawks to the Region IV-6A semifinals a year ago and the Class 5A regional quarterfinals in 2018 and 2019. A Jefferson graduate, she previously was head coach at Brennan and Fox Tech.

100: Overall wins for Alamo Heights volleyball coach Alex Bothe, who met the standard during the Mules’ triumph over East Central at the Floresville tournament on Aug. 21.
Bothe is in her third season at Alamo Heights, guiding her first team to the UIL Class 5A state tournament in 2019 and her second squad to the regional quarterfinals a year ago before falling to eventual regional champion Dripping Springs.
A standout outside hitter on Seguin’s 2009 state semifinal squad, Bothe previously was head coach for two seasons at Lockhart.
