3: Clemens’ ranking in the latest United Soccer Coaches’ top 10 national poll. The Buffaloes (20-0-1) are the only area team to make the list and one of three from Texas. Austin Bowie is No. 2 and Katy Seven Lakes is No. 7.
100: Career wins for Medina Valley girls soccer coach Steven Kirkpatrick. He accomplished the feat during the Panthers’ 7-4 decision vs. Floresville on March 10.
100: Career wins for Madison girls soccer coach Michael Babcock. He reached the mark with a 6-0 victory over MacArthur on March 5. Babcock, who a year ago led the Mavericks to their first district title since 2000 and first playoff berth since 2004, previously coached the Holmes boys team.
150: Career wins for Churchill girls soccer coach Elena Morton. She reached the standard with the Chargers’ 3-0 triumph vs. Roosevelt on Tuesday. Morton is in her seventh season at the helm of her alma mater and 14th overall. She previously coached at New Braunfels.
200: Career wins for Steele baseball coach David Smith, who attained the milestone during the Knights’ 3-1 decision vs. Kyle Lehman at the San Antonio/Comal Classic on March 4.
250: Career wins for Steele boys soccer coach Jason Burnett. Burnett, who previously coached at Hays, reached the mark during the Knights’ 6-0 victory vs. East Central on Feb. 26.

State’s best: Twenty area soccer players were named first team all-state by the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS).
Patrico Parra, Tristan Smith and Cristobal Parra Ramon of state champion TMI made the Division II team. Central Catholic’s Isai Prezas, Sevastian Rodriguez, Carlos Melo and Benjamin Escobedo were on the D-I squad, and Schertz John Paul’s Michael Boyle and Eoin McCormick earned spots on the D-I team.
Antonian’s Grace Loehr, Kate Roberts and Alaina Gilbert made TAPPS’ D-I squad, Boerne Geneva’s Audrey Davis was on the D-II team and Schertz John Paul II’s Emilie Rompel, Cecilia Lopez, Madeline Seebeck, Maeve Sullivan, Mia Heyburn, Elizabeth Seebeck and Adrianna Shuck were on D-III roster.
