From the hardwood to the gridiron and beyond, taking a look back and ahead at the San Antonio-area high school sports landscape:

By the numbers
400: Career wins for Southwest softball coach Sandra Hernandez, who reached the milestone during the Dragons’ 8-7 triumph vs. Harlandale on April 10. She is believed to be only the 11th coach in San Antonio-area softball history to accomplish the feat, joining O’Connor’s Anne Lewis, New Braunfels Canyon’s Kevin Randle, Canyon Lake’s John Gallagher, Churchill’s Teresa Machu, Alamo Heights’ Jennifer Fox, La Vernia’s Shelly Hayes, Seguin’s John Garcia, Smithson Valley’s Amanda Wolf-Schramm, Judson’s Theresa Urbanovsky and Blanco’s Michael Seales.
Hernandez is in her 17th season as a head coach, all at Southwest, her alma mater. She has guided the Dragons to 11 district titles, outright or shared, and the UIL state tournament in 2014 in the previous 16 campaigns.
161: Career goals scored by Davenport senior Rylee Reisdorph. The total is believed to be the fifth-most in San Antonio-area girls soccer history, trailing only Harlandale’s Ingrid Garcia, Jefferson’s Arianna Solis, Antonian’s Sarah Hernandez and Schertz John Paul’s Emilie Rompel.
A Central Arkansas signee, Reisdorph scored 55 goals this season, including the lone tally in the Wolves’ 2-1 loss to Celina in the UIL Class 4A Division I state final on April 10.
8: Area soccer athletes selected to the UIL all-state tournament team. Southwest forwards Caleb Barajas and Alfredo Plascencia and midfielder Brayan Plascencia made the Class 5A Division I squad. On the girls side, Smithson Valley midfielder Alyssa Pipes and forward Addison Briscoe earned spots on the 5A Division I team. Davenport forward Rylee Reisdorph, defender Logan Strong and goalkeeper Isabel Templeman were tabbed to the Class 4A Division I team.
