30: Area volleyball athletes named All-State by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.
Harlan’s Aniya Joseph and Da’Mya Mann, O’Connor’s Carly Chavez and Kendall McKee, Reagan’s Mya Allen, Clark’s Arianna Roberson and Brandeis’ Sophia Kuyn made it in Class 6A. New Braunfels Canyon’s Megan Hawkins, Alamo Heights’ Thea Carter, Smithson Valley’s Macie Mathis and Kerrville Tivy’s Taylor Kubacak made it in 5A.
Talan Dodson, Lexi Dahl, Logan Strong and Ashtan Dodson of state champion Davenport, Floresville’s Paisley Pavliska, Devine’s Rylee Esquibel, La Vernia’s Cayleigh Cervenka and Navarro’s Taylor Helms earned spots on the 4A squad.
In 3A, Poth’s Ryann Miller and Olivia West and Ingram’s Madison McClintock made it. Stockdale’s Lexi West and Leann Wise, Falls City’s Cayla Albers and Chloe Cavalier and Johnson City’s Ava Craig in 2A. D’Hanis’ Jess Frosch, Peyton Burell and Kylee Thompson were selected to 1A team.

4: Area athletes selected to play in the TGCA All-Star volleyball match during the organization’s summer clinic June 24-27 in Arlington. Reagan’s Mya Allen is scheduled to play for the Blue team in the Class 5A-6A contest. Floresville’s Giada Obregon and Poth’s Olivia West are on the Red squad for the 1A-4A match, while Davenport’s Ashtan Dodson is on the Blue team.

National honor: Reagan setter/outside hitter Lauren Garcia has been named to MaxPreps’ All-America freshman team, which recognizes the nation’s top players in Class of 2027.
The 5-foot-11 Garcia had 798 assists, 428 kills, 375 digs and 54 aces for the Rattlers, who advanced to the third round of the Class 6A playoffs before falling in four sets to Austin Lake Travis. Garcia led Reagan in assists and was second in kills.
