3,000: Career assists for Clemens senior setter Kamrynn Clay, who reached the milestone during the Buffaloes’ win vs. Judson on Oct. 13.
1,500: Total assists for Medina Valley senior setter Lexi Tedford, who accomplished the feat during the Panthers’ victory vs. McCollum on Oct. 13.
1,000: Career assists for Kerrville Tivy junior setter Madellyn Fielder, who reached the mark during the Antlers’ win vs. Seguin on Tuesday.
1,000: Assists for Madison junior setter Aubrey Lyssy, who reached the plateau during the Mavericks’ win vs. LEE on Tuesday.
1,000: Overall digs for Harlandale senior setter Cayla Reyes, who reached the standard during the Indians’ win vs. Southwest Legacy on Oct. 13.
1,000: Career assists for Clark junior setter Liliana Brisco, who hit the mark during the Cougars’ match vs. Madison on Oct. 6.
5: Days until the UIL permits high school boys basketball teams across the state to conduct their first after-school practice on Oct. 25. The season tips off on Nov. 10 and concludes with the UIL state tournament March 7-9 at the Alamodome. Brennan (Class 6A), Veterans Memorial (5A), Boerne (4A) and Lytle (3A) each advanced to the state semifinals a year ago.
Notebook
Making a splash: The Boerne Champion boys and Brandeis girls are both two wins away from returning to the UIL water polo state tournament.
Both made it to the final four a year ago during the sport’s inaugural season sponsored by the University Interscholastic League, with Champion falling in the state final and Brandeis in the state semifinals.
Champion faces Alamo Heights at 12:45 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals of the Region IV-6A tournament at Southwest ISD Aquatic Center. Clark takes on Johnson at 11:30 a.m. The winners play at 4 p.m. for a trip to the state tournament on Oct. 28 at North East ISD’s Davis Natatorium.
Brandeis takes on Alamo Heights at 10:15 a.m. and Johnson meets Brennan at 9 a.m. in the regional semifinal. The winners square off for a state berth at 2:30 p.m.
