3,000: Career assists for Steele senior setter Carly Dossett, who reached the milestone during the Knights’ District 27-6A win Tuesday vs. New Braunfels.
1,000: Career kills for MacArthur senior Kaylen Lembcke, who attained the mark during the Brahmas’ win vs. Edison on Oct. 6.
1,000: Total digs for Alamo Heights senior Kendall Burns, who reached the plateau during the Mules’ triumph vs. Lanier on Oct. 6.
1,000: Career assists for Cornerstone junior setter Kaia Thiele, who accomplished the feat during the Warriors’ match vs. St. James Academy of Kansas on Oct. 6.
1,000: Overall kills for Alamo Heights senior Thea Carter, who attained the standard during the Mules’ win vs. Jefferson on Oct. 3.
1,000: Career assists for Cornerstone senior setter Natalia Jackson, who reached the mark during the Warriors’ win vs. Davenport on Sept. 26.
1,000: Career kills for Davenport senior Ashtan Dodson, who reached the mark during the Wolves’ match vs. Davenport on Tuesday.
1,000: Total assists for Davenport sophomore setter Lexi Dahl, who garnered the mark during the Wolves’ match vs. Wimberley on Tuesday.
600: Career wins for New Braunfels volleyball coach Kate Zora, who reached the total during the Unicorns’ sweep over Judson on Oct. 6. Zora is in her second season at New Braunfels and 22nd overall. She previously coached at Klein, A&M Consolidated and Round Rock Westwood. Zora guided Klein to the UIL Class 6A state final in 2020 and has guided her teams to the regional tournament eight times.
200: Wins for Cornerstone volleyball coach Mike Carter during his six seasons at the school. Carter reached the total during the Warriors’ 25-13, 25-14 victory over Sunrise Mountain of Arizona in the semifinals of the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix on Sept. 30. Carter has 1,080 wins overall during a 34-year career that includes stints at Randolph, Holmes and Reagan. He is the area’s winningest coach and No. 4 in Texas history, behind only Bellville’s Susan Brewer, Port Neches-Groves’ Barbara Comeaux and Amarillo High’s Jan Barker.
5: Days until the UIL allows girls basketball teams across the state to conduct their first after-school practice on Oct. 18. The season begins on Nov. 3 and concludes Feb. 29-March 2 with the state tournament at the Alamodome. Clark is the defending Class 6A state champion, while Wagner (5A) and Boerne (4A) advanced to the state semifinals a year ago.
