By the numbers
3,000: Career assists for New Braunfels Canyon setter Megan Hawkins, who reached the mark vs. Deer Park at Katy/Cy-Fair tournament on Aug. 12. It was the second milestone in as many days for Hawkins, who collected her 1,000th dig vs. Katy Taylor on Aug. 11.
2,000: Career assists for Steele senior setter Carly Dossett, who reached the milestone during the Knights’ season opener vs. Davenport on Aug. 7.
1,000: Career digs for Brandeis senior libero Lola Davila, who secured the total during the second day of the Katy/Cy-Fair tournament on Aug. 11. A Texas Tech commit, Davila accomplished the feat in less than two seasons. Teammate Samantha Valadez, a senior setter, notched her 1,000th assist on Aug. 12.
1,000: Career digs for Warren senior Grace Owens and total assists for Warren junior Naomi Gamboa, who reached their milestones during the Warriors’ 25-23, 25-20, 25-20 win vs. Johnson on Tuesday. Owens notched her 1,000th kill on the first day of the North East/Northside tournament on Aug. 11.
1,000: Career assists for Brennan senior setter Jasmine Dukes, who reached the plateau during Bears’ win vs. Marshall on Aug. 8
1,000: Career kills for Reagan junior outside hitter Mya Allen, who accomplished the feat during the Rattlers’ match vs. Dallas Ursuline at the Turner Classic in Pearland on Aug. 12.
1,000: Digs for Clark senior libero Jaylin Lott, who met the standard during the Cougars’ win vs. Alamo Heights on Tuesday.
600: Career wins for Antonian volleyball coach Samantha McLure, who amassed the mark during the Apaches’ victory vs. Round Rock Cedar Ridge at Round Rock Westwood Showcase on Aug. 11. McLure is in her 18th season at Antonian, which she has led to four TAPPS state titles, and 20th overall. She also coached at Incarnate Word.
500: Career victories for Madison volleyball coach Shannon Wolfe, who reached the milestone as tje Mavericks won the North East/Northside tournament on Aug. 12. Wolfe previously coached at Floresville and Southwest, the latter which she guided to the regional tournament in 2008 and 2009.
